What is a happy hoo?

A Happy Hoo is a rallying cry to celebrate yourself and spread positivity. It's about giving ourselves a cheery Happy Hoo for every moment of pride, and inspiring others to do the same. Together, let's continue writing stories, building our dreams, and sharing our happiness with the world.

Happy Hoos Movement Initiatives 

Hi.  I'm Cris and I've been a nurse for 15 years.  It is my lifelong dream to be a philanthropist.  Although not yet feasible at this time as we are still a fairly new brand, I have curated impactful initiatives that we plan to start this year of 2026. 

What our team have done so far:  

1. December 2025: One of our customers shared with us that some of the notebooks in her order would be going to a local women’s shelter that had requested notebooks for their holiday donations last December 2025. Without hesitation, and with her permission, our team added 50 notebooks to her order to donate to the women’s shelter.  This is how we envisioned Happy Hoos' growth -- to be a brand that extends a helpful end in any way possible. 

2. Our Dear Nurse quarterly subscriptions use special stamps that support breast cancer, Alzheimer's and PTSD research.  Instead of paying 78 cents per stamp, we choose 90-cent stamps that give 12 cents to these causes, making every mailing a small act of support.  Thank you to all our Dear Nurse subscribers for making this possible!

Here are the three ways we will spread the movement this year.  

Starting August 2026: 

1. **Honoring and Supporting Teachers:**Happy Hoos will honor and support educators by selecting one deserving teacher each semester to receive free notebooks with retail value of $100. This gesture acknowledges the invaluable role teachers play in inspiring creativity and learning among students. By equipping teachers with quality notebooks, we empower them to facilitate engaging writing activities that promote self-expression and personal growth in the classroom. Starting August 2026

2. **Donating 100 Notebooks to Schools:** Annually, Happy Hoos will donate 100 notebooks to a school in need. This donation aims to provide students with essential tools for learning and self-expression. By supplying schools with quality notebooks, we strive to enhance students' educational experiences and empower them to unleash their creativity through writing and reflection. We hope to increase the number of notebooks each school year as our business grow.  Please stay tuned in our Instagram page for the announcement. 

Year-Round Effort

3. **YouTube Channel on Meditative Journaling:** Happy Hoos launched a YouTube channel dedicated to showcasing our products, providing tips on meditative journaling and reflection. Through informative videos, we will offer valuable insights to help individuals incorporate journaling into their daily lives as a tool for self-discovery and mindfulness. By leveraging the power of multimedia, we aim to reach a broader audience and empower individuals to embark on their own journey of self-reflection.
